Winstone 2004
Winstone 2004 is an older benchmark - but it is still widely used, and there is a large library of results out there to compare to.
Business Winstone
The new AM2's performance is basically the same as the equivalent DDR part - for example, the X2 3800+ DDR version is slightly faster for Business Winstone, but the variance is well within experimental error. The stock FX-60 is 0.4 points faster than the 5000+ ... a difference that can be accounted for by the larger L2 caches on the FX-60, or simply experimental error.
The best score was by the overclocked FX-60, closely followed by the overclocked 5000+.
The Intel D 930, even when overclocked beyond 955 specifications, did not even match the stock AM2 5000+ - losing by about 10%.
Content Creation
The stock 3800's are again within 1% of each other, and the stock FX-60 and 5000+ are also kissing cousins.
The overclocked AM2 5000+ manages to beat the overclocked FX-60 by a hair in the Content Creation benchmark. The stock AM2 5000+ is very close to the stock FX-60, and even the seriously overclocked D 930 cannot compete with the stock 5000+ or FX-60.
