Socket AM2: Athlon 64 X2 5000+ - PAGE 12
William Henning, Tom Karpik
- Tuesday, May 23rd, 2006

Jedi Knight

Well, the AM2 shines here.

The overclocked AM2 is almost 6 FPS faster than an overclocked FX-60, or 13 FPS faster than a stock AM2-5000. The highly overclocked D930 follows.

It's interesting to see that the AM2 X2 3800+ gets a 6.4 FPS advantage over the regular X2 3800+.

UT 2004

We see the same pattern emerging. The overclocked AM2 again dominates, then the overclocked FX-60, followed by the stock AM2-5000 which even managed to beat a stock FX-60!

It's pretty safe to say that the AM2 5000+ makes a great gaming chip.
