Socket AM2: Athlon 64 X2 5000+ - PAGE 11

Doom 3

Surprisingly, the overclocked D 930 takes the lead for Doom 3. I suspect that the dual core patch works better for Intel processors for some reason.

The overclocked FX60 follows, then the overclocked AM2 takes third spot, followed by the FX-60 (I guess Doom likes the larger L2 caches) and the stock AM2.

Halo

Oh ... but the story is different with Halo.

Halo loved the overclocked AM2 with it getting 29 FPS more than the overclocked D 930 and a whopping 50 FPS more than the stock AM2. The overclocked FX-60 was also almost 18 FPS faster than the overclocked D 930. I find it strange that the AM2 5000+ scored the same as the AM2 X2 3800+ score, but I just report my findings - I am guessing that memory bandwidth was the reason.
